Is happiness a goal or a mindset?

One way to view it is like a very special pair of sunglasses - when you wear them - everything that happens seems like it was designed to make you feel "happy".

Train delays you - excellent - time to listen to some music or just enjoy watching the train. It was meant to be.

Once you have simply decided to be happy - regardless of what happens - then it is a matter of considering your life. And determine just what the ideal would look or sound or feel like for each area of your life.

Notice that I did not say that happiness was one of these goals. Your happiness is allowed to be determined by progress or otherwise towards ANY goal. Or this would lead to a situation where you would be happy "if you do or get something" or "after you have it".

Make the happiness completely independent of your goals! Or you will never achieve it - by its very definition.

A life coach can help you get clarity around what is important to you, what can give you extra zest for life, and what will make you feel like you are back on track.
